Principal, Full Stack Software Engineer
The Role
Come join the Fidelity Institutional Wealthtech Solutions team as a Principal, Full Stack Software Engineer.
Hands on coding! Yes, this position will require you to spend about 75% of your time hands on building and delivering solutions, including Design and Architecture. The remainder of your time would be spent mentoring and growing members of the team who are passionate about technology.
We are fortunate to contribute to Fidelity’s rapidly growing advice business and capabilities with a focus on advice solutions offered to advisors, home offices, and family offices. We build digital experiences such as the FI Custom SMA platform, the digital experience for our direct indexing products.
Our teams follow an agile process, moving quickly, solving difficult problems in new ways, and empowering everyone to have a voice in the direction of our products.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 5+years’ experience developing web applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- You build positive relationships with other team members and have excellent verbal and written communication.
- You have a passion for clean, maintainable code and are always looking to improve your engineering skills.
- You have experience working in an Agile software delivery environment, with exposure to continuous integration and continuous delivery tools.
- Understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable platform.
- Learn and adopt new concepts & technologies quickly and implement them effectively.
- Experience in REST API development (ideally NodeJS/NestJS).
- Experience in various relational and non-relational database technologies.
At least one of the following:
- Expertise using TypeScript, Node.js React – open to strong developers with experience in other languages or frameworks and a desire to learn
- Expertise and a consistent record of designing and delivering end-to-end systems – client/server/db
- Expertise crafting ETL processes for Financial Data Vendor feeds
- Expertise in CI/CD, networking, operational resiliency, failover & DR (ideally with AWS)
The Team
The Wealthtech Solutions team was started in Fidelity Labs, Fidelity's software incubator and digital studio. The team graduated from Labs to Fidelity Institutional, where we continue to offer new and innovative products to financial advisors. We believe in design thinking, lean start-up, and the principles of agile.
