Prior to joining Fidelity, Jimmy worked as a Network Systems Engineer for large multinational organisations and as a security consultant for IT security consultancy firms in Ireland.

    The size of the company and the opportunities for career progression.
  • What’s the best thing about being part of Fidelity?
    I enjoy working with people from different regions and cultures. The team I manage has members in Ireland, India and the US. Even though the team members are geographically dispersed around the world, there is a real sense of teamwork and camaraderie.

    Every day brings different challenges. This keeps you on your toes and ensures that you are always learning.
  • Tell us about your greatest challenge at Fidelity.
    I joined Fidelity as a technologist, knowing that I wanted to move into the area of people management. Within a year of joining Fidelity I was promoted into the role of senior manager. I went from an individual contributor role where I was responsible for my own individual projects to a management role where I was responsible for managing multiple people and projects. I received excellent support and guidance from other senior managers which made my transition into management a seamless one.

  • How has Fidelity supported your development?
    Fidelity has supported my ambition to move into a management role. I have been a manager for six years and have received great support from senior management throughout this period. Fidelity has also supported me in achieving professional certifications in areas such as IT security (CISSP) and project management (PMP).
