Q: What was your background prior to joining Fidelity?

I have worked in a variety of industries including telecommunications, electronic messaging and multimedia. Previous roles have included Product Support, Development and Management, as well as Systems Analysis. Some companies were small start ups whilst others were large multi-nationals.

Q: How long have you been with Fidelity?

I have been with Fidelity since 2007.

Q: What made you choose to work with Fidelity?

I was keen to work in the financial services domain as I feel there is scope for developments in this area in the months and years to come that will lead to challenging and interesting work from a software development and design stand point, so it is an exciting environment to be a part of. I also had some friends who worked in Fidelity who always had encouraging and positive things to say about the company, its people and how it operated.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?

Learning about new systems and more about the Fidelity business is enlightening and rewarding, and ever changing. The sense of team work is also something which makes the job enjoyable. Friday morning tea and biscuits helps also!

Q: What words would you use to describe your colleagues?

Helpful, knowledgeable, thorough, not afraid to challenge, question or debate, can see the funny side of things where necessary!

Q: What type of person can be successful in Fidelity?

Someone with a consistent work ethic, who is patient, respectful, someone who can work well under pressure and is open to change and new challenges.

Q: How has Fidelity supported your Learning & Development?

Fidelity offers a large number of business and technical online courses which facilitate continuous learning and development. Sufficient time has been allocated by my manager to allow me the time to take these courses. Fidelity also regularly brings in subject matter experts to deliver structured training courses on business applicable topics.
