How to Apply

Amanda - 2007/2008 GIFT Associate

I heard about Fidelity Investments’ GIFT program at the N.U.I.G. recruitment fair. Immediately, I was very interested in applying as the program offered training not only in areas that I was interested in but also in areas and using technologies that I hadn’t been exposed to at University. The program begins with four months “Intensive Training”, and it definitely is intense. There is a lot to be learned in a short time, but each topic covered builds on the previous so it is easy to see the bigger picture emerging.

Amanda Sweeney - GIFT Associate

As this was my first real job, I was apprehensive about my lack of experience, however the training, though fast paced, covers everything from the basics to the advanced. The training takes place in a class room environment, which also makes the transition from University easier.

After the initial training, project work commences. This is where you really start to see the benefits of the training. As well as utilising the technical skills you have learned, you also get the opportunity to develop your people skills.

The third phase of GIFT, after the first project, is a more complex business project. Both projects provide excellent preparation for later projects with real customers and realistic expectations and deadlines.

Fidelity Investments places a strong emphasis on building relationships both professional and personal, this results in a very amicable environment to work in.
